New pricing model: Base Daily Fee + Harvest FeeFeatured
We've heard from a lot of our Sportsmen & Landowners asking for a new pricing model in which there would be a based daily hunting fee that Sportsmen would pay to have access to the property for hunting that could include things like upland birds, predators, etc. and then, in cases of big game hunts, there would be a harvest fee which would only be paid if the hunter successfully harvest an animal(s).
What would this look like?
Base Daily Fee + Harvest Fees is a pricing scheme in which the Landowner can institute a flat daily rate to access their property which can include certain activities with the addition of a Harvest Fee which a Sportsman would pay if they are successful in their pursuit. Landowners have final approval of verifying whether there was a successful harvest or not. Harvest fees are most commonly used for big game hunting although they can be used in other cases.
A Landowner sets a Base Daily Hunting Fee of $50 and has Harvest Fees of:
-Mule Deer Buck: $300
- Bull Elk: $500
- Whitetail Doe: $100
If you're a Sportsman that books a 5-day hunt on this listing and you successfully harvest a Mule Deer Buck & a Bull Elk your payment would be:
Base Daily Hunting Fee: ($50) * 5 days: $250
+ Mule Deer Buck Harvest Fee ($300)
+ Bull Elk Harvest Fee ($500)
Total Booking Subtotal: $1,050
LandTrust Booking Fee: $157.50
Total Booking Cost: $1,207.50
If you're a Sportsman that books a 5-day hunt on this listing and you don't successfully harvest any animals, you'd simply pay the $250 for the Base Daily Hunting Fee for 5 days and the LandTrust Booking Fee of $37.50.
Tell us what you think or up/down vote this!
Our goal for this new pricing feature is to lower the potential cost of going on a LandTrust hunt and reducing the perceived risk of paying a higher rate in the case of not being successful on your trip, which is a real part of hunting that happens often. Basically, either way, you'll pay the Landowner for access but you'll only pay the larger part of the fees if you're successful.
